This is a step by step guide to generating a research report, infographics and a video presentation using AI tools, such as Deep Research, Gemini and Notebook LM.
AI Tools
Step 1: Build a better quality research prompt
Open 'Prompt Builder' GPT
Press 'Create a Prompt'
Enter you request (" I want to research...")
GPT will enhance your query and create a prompt
Tip:
AI operates on a principle "rubbish in, rubbish out"
Give AI some context, such as a research question, publication types, publication date ranges, exclusion and/or inclusion criteria, region, target audience, etc. Your request does not need to be perfect; you will be able to review and ask AI to correct it later if needed.

Professional Research Prompt Example:
Note:
Professional research queries are similar to research protocols. They can be quite time consuming and complex to design. It does make a big difference, however, to how useful the results are.
Step 2: Generate deep research report (ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity etc)
Copy generated prompt from Step 1
Paste into ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity etc.
Select 'Deep Research' function
Press Send/Run
Depending on the model, you may be asked some follow up questions
Note:
It may take 5–30 minutes, depending on the app, subscription type, and request complexity. From my experience, Gemini provides more consistent results.
Press '+' in ChatGPT or Gemini to expand the chat menu, then select 'Deep Research'

Step 3: Create infographics
The infographics function is available in Gemini. You can also prompt ChatGPT to create infographics, but I find Gemini's version to be more useful.

Step 4: Generate a video presentation (Notebook LM)
Open Notebook LM https://notebooklm.google.com/
Create a new notebook
Select 'Add' sources
Upload your research document from Step 2
Select 'video overview' option
It might take 5-15 min to generate a presentation
Tip:
NotebookLM accepts multiple sources such as files, videos, websites, etc. It does not currently accept Word documents, so you will need to convert them to PDF or copy and paste the content as text. Alternatively, you can upload it as a Google Doc
